Seminar for Japanese investment in India

FEC held a Seminar for Japanese investment in India at the Embassy of India on June 20. Indian government is eager for inviting Japanese companies’ investment in India and has additionally assigned an economic minister and a commercial counsellor to the embassy this year. The seminar was organized by the proposal of Ambassador Wadhwa and the program focused on the industries where Japanese investment is highly expected by Ambassador Wadhwa. As a co-organizer, Mr. Singh, Minister(Economic), Embassy of India made a remark, “Indian economy seems to regain the momentum by overcoming the temporary slow growth. Indian general election is over and India is beginning to capture investors’ spotlight again. It is meaningful that the seminar is held at this time. Mr. Kenichi Watanabe, Chairman of FEC Japan-India Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Senior Advisor to the Board, Nomura Holdings, INC made a remark,” Indian embassy is making hard effort every day to further strengthen the India-Japan relations. FEC will do our best for the development of both countries. I will be more than happy if the participants are satisfied by the seminar.”
On the session of “Briefing on the investment environment of India”, Mr. Ramu, Commercial Counsellor of the Indian embassy described in detail about the electronics and recycling sector. Mr. Nitin, President of Ambika Trading Company talked on food processing sector. After the tea break, Indian representative briefed on the requests made by Japanese companies in India, followed by Q&As. FEC president Matsuzawa made a closing remarks,” It is not necessary to say , India is one of the most important countries for Japan. I feel strongly that we should economically develop and FEC will make our effort for the development of both countries.” After the seminar, participants moved to the reception hall and exchanged business cards with Indian diplomats.
