FEC invited H. E. Mr. Farrukh Tursunov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan　for an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Okura Tokyo on May 21. After the enjoyable lunch, Mr. Kenichi Matsumoto, Chairman of FEC Japan Central-Asia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, CEO, Sakura Grobal Holding Co., Ltd.　made a welcome speech, “In order to deepen the Japan-Uzbekistan relations, we held the Japan- Uzbekistan Forum in March. We invited Foreign Affairs Minister Ganiyev from Uzbekistan and Deputy Prime Minister Aso and other Diet members from Japan. Many attendants gathered reflecting the growing interest in Uzbekistan in Japan. I believe the ties between the two countries will deepen further through Japanese investments in Uzbekistan.
FEC plan to send the 1^st FEC Central Asia mission to visit Uzbekistan, therefore we hope many members with interest to join the mission.” Ambassador Tursunov expressed gratitude about FEC’s effort of the friendship with Uzbekistan and made a speech on the current situation of Uzbekistan and expectation for Japan.
