Afternoon Meeting at the French Embassy

On April 7, 26 members of FEC, including President Matsuzawa and Senior Managing Director Yushita, were invited by H. E. Mr. Christian Masset, Ambassador of France for the afternoon meeting and reception at the French Embassy in Tokyo. This event was realized by the proposal of Ambassador Masset to FEC president Mr. Matsuzawa in December last year. Three French diplomats made presentations on the Japan-France relationship in the politics, economy, and nuclear power fields followed by Q&As.
After the meeting, the attendants enjoyed a walking tour guided by Mr. Sciortino. They started from the embassy building which was completed in 2009, They walked through the yard with a pool to the Ambassador’s official residence, where Ambassador Masset hosted the reception. Before the opening of the reception, the participants took a photograph in the big garden and Ambassador Masset made a welcome speech focusing on the history of the embassy,” The embassy was moved from Iidabashi to the 2-ha site which was formerly Tokugawa han’s residence. The pond changed into the pool contributes to the neighboring area for the fire prevention in an emergency. “ After the pleasant talk, Mr. Matsuzawa thanked the ambassador for the invitation and stated his willingness of increasing exchanges between the French Embassy and FEC.
