FEC invited H. E. Mr. Khenthong Nuanthasing, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic　for an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo on February 18. Mr. Norio Yamaguchi, Chairman of FEC Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Chairman of the Board of AJINOMOTO co., Inc made a welcome speech, “In March　the FEC　ASEAN delegation headed by me plans to visit your country. The Japanese investment in Lao PDR grow rapidly recently. Japan and Lao PDR will celebrate the 60^th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, therefore the visit of the FEC delegation will be timely. As a prior study meeting of the delegation, we would like to hear from Ambassador Khenthong about your basic policy for the ASEAN Economic Community inauguration, and the cooperation between both countries in economy, culture, medical treatment, education, tourism, and human-resources development.”

Ambassador Khenthong made a speech on the economic situation and the social economy plan of Laos, education and cultural exchanges with Japan. After the speech, the ambassador responded to the questions from the attendants followed by business card exchange and commemorative photograph taking.
