On December 15, FEC President Mr.Matsuzawa and other FEC senior executives paid a courtesy visit to H. E. U Wunna Maung Lwin, Foreign Minister of Myanmar at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo during his stay with President Thein Sein in Japan for attending the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit Meeting. Mr.Matsuzawa said, “This is the third meeting for FEC with Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin including the visit of the FEC delegation last year. It is our great honor to meet you again in Tokyo in spite of early morning today.”

Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin appreciated the meeting with FEC and said, “We would like to further develop our relationship since Myanmar and Japan will celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic-relations next year. We have been making effort for the national social and economic development. We try to raise the living standard of the farmers which account for the majority of the population. We also concentrate on the development of human resources and infrastructure.” He requeted further investment and a wide range of support from Japan including the cooperation for the development of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and the Dawei port and Special Economic Zone project. H. E. U Wunna Maung Lwin and Mr.Matsuzawa exchanged views on enhancement of agricultural productivity, environmental preservation and tourism.
