FEC invited H.E. Mr. Mark Sinclair, Ambassador of New Zealand to Japan for an Executive Luncheon Meeting at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo on August 27. Following the enjoyable lunch with a pleasant talk, FEC President Mr. Matsuzawa made a welcome speech, Ambassador Sinclair talked in fluent Japanese on the topic of “What TPP aims at — views of the original members”. Before the appointment as Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Sinclair had played an active part as New Zealand’s chief TPP negotiator for 3 years.
Japan was formally invited to join in the TPP negotiations in July. Therefore, the theme of the speech was very timely and there were active Q&As and discussions after the speech.
