FEC and the Russian Embassy in Japan jointly organized the 13th Joint FEC Japan-Russia Economic Seminar at the Russian Embassy on July 11. Following the opening remark of Mr. Ken Matsuzawa, President of FEC, Mr. Yoshinari  Hara,  Vice Chairman of FEC Japan-Russia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Honorary Adviser of Daiwa Securities Group Inc. made a remark as follows, “Many Japanese business leaders also attended the Japan-Russia summit meeting in April, and the two leaders confirmed promotion of Japan-Russia economic cooperation in various fields. I welcome the joint statement which mentioned the peace treaty. I wish further development of bilateral relations and expect a lively exchange of views at today’s seminar.” Mr. Gennady A. Ovechko, Chargés d’affaires ad interim of the Russian Embassy in Japan started his speech by expressing his gratitude of re-assignment in Japan after one year and a half　absence. He stated the result of the summit meeting in April and mentioned about thecurrent situation and challenges of Japan-Russia relations. There were active Q&A and discussions after his speech.
