FEC and the Myanmar Embassy co-organized the “Myanmar Investment Seminar” at the Myanmar Embassy on July 4. Myanmar is expected to develop as “The Last Frontier of Asia,” and attracts attention as a new investment destination for Japanese companies. The seminar was attended by about 120 representatives of companies interested in Myanmar. After the opening remarks of FEC President Ken Matsuzawa, Myanmar Ambassador Thurain Thant Zin talked about his passion for investment from Japan in a speech entitled “Current Policy and Economic Conditions in Myanmar”. After his speech, Dr. Masami Ishida, Chief Senior Researcher of IDE-JETRO,as the moderator, made a report on “Transforming Myanmar”, and then Ambassador Thurain Thant Zin responded politely over time to the requests from the participants and many questions received in advance.
