FEC hosted a welcome breakfast meeting for H. E. Dr. Mansour Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Islamic Republic of Iran at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo on October 9. From Iran side, 5 people attended including Mr. Morteza Rahmani Movahed, Ambassador of Iran, Dr. Hossein Salar Amoli, First Vice-Minister of Science, Research and Technology and Dr. Amir Saeed Karami, Deputy of International and Scientific Cooperation Center, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. From FEC side, 5 people attended including FEC President Ken Matsuzawa, Mr. Kinichi Komano, Chairman of Japan Iran Association, Former Ambassador to Iran,Mr. Mitsutoshi Kobayashi, President of Keishin Gakuen Educational Group and Mr. Tatsuo Fujimura, Chairman of JTC Corporation. FEC President Ken Matsuzawa made a welcome remark and said, “ I am honored to be with Honorable Minister Gholami and I would like to welcome everyone. Attendees on the Japanese side wish for friendly Iran-Japan relations and economic development of both countries.I would like to cooperate with Ambassador Movahed and strengthen ties between the two countries. I expect frank opinion exchanges within the limited time.” Minister Gholami said,” Iranians have strong affinity toward Japan.Many people have strong interest in Japanese people and culture.Japan is one of the leading countries in the world in which science and technology are developing, while consistently pursuing peace. It is a respectable country.I would like to promote academic and research exchange between Japan and Iran during my term of office. Then, both Japan and Iran side introduced themselves and exchanged lively opinions. Before closing the meeting, the participants took a commemorative group photo, and exchanged business cards among attendees.
