Welcoming Breakfast Meeting in honor of H.E. Mr. Māris Kučinskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia

FEC hosted a welcoming breakfast meeting for H.E.Mr. Māris Kučinskis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia at the Hotel Okura Tokyo on December 8. From Latvia side, 11 people attended including Ambassador Dace Treija-Masī and Mr. Māris Krastiņš Head of Prime Minister’s Bureau. From Japan side, 16 people attended including FEC President Ken Matsuzawa, Mr. Yasushi Masaki, Director-General, European Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Mr. Takashi Hara, Vice Chairman of Sojitz Corporation and Mr. Yutaka Ito, Executive Vice President of NIPPON EXPRESS CO., LTD.
At the breakfast meeting, Prime Minister Kučinskis said, “Latvia will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the independence next year. We are one of the most growing countries among the EU member countries. At the meeting with Prime Minister Abe, I expressed my wishes to deepen the economic relations with Japan and my expectations that trade volumes between the two countries would be increased with the Japan-EU EPA entering into effect, which is currently under negotiation. I would like to actively explore cooperation with Japanese companies in various areas.
After breakfast talks, the participants took a commemorative group photo, and exchanged business cards among attendees including Prime Minister Krastiņš.
