FEC invited Mr. Paul Madden CMG, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo on October 18.The meeting was held on the theme of “The UK and Japan: a strong partnership for the 21st Century”. Mr. Yasuo Saito, Advisor of FEC Japan-Europe Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee (Director, Ajinomoto Co., Inc., Former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Russia and France), made a welcome remark and said, “Britain’s EU withdrawal negotiation, which began after the referendum last year, seems difficult. The UK situation has an important meaning to Japan, so I think that it is very timely to hear about European situation and Japan-U.K. relations.” Then Ambassador Madden made a speech.
