FEC invited H.E. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Ambassador of Vietnam, to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo on September 7. The meeting was held on the theme of “Current situation of Viet Nam and future prospects of Japan-Viet Nam relationship”. Mr. Yoshihiko Nakagaki, Chairman of FEC Japan-Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Honorary Counselor of Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (J-Power) said in his welcoming speech, “I have served as the head of the FEC Delegation to Viet Nam for seven consecutive years, This year we will visit northern, central and southern part of Vietnam from October 1st to 7th..Vietnam has made steady progress in economic development under the Doi Moi policy and is currently at the entrance of the so-called middle income countries. The last ten years’ economic development in Vietnam has been going well, but on the other hand several problems are emerging. We will continue to cooperate with the public and private sectors of Vietnam in order to solve the problems at hand and to promote long-term, permanent development of the Vietnam economy.The visit of the Emperor and Empress to Vietnam in March this year was an opportunity to shed a new light on the Japan-Viet Nam relationship.Vietnam, which is heading for a new stage, is a trustworthy country, and I would like to continue walking together.” Ambassador Cuong made a speech, focusing on the current situation of Viet Nam and Japan-Viet Nam relationship.
