We held “Global Forum on Reconstruction” at Hotel Okura Tokyo Heian Room on the afternoon of March 22nd, 2012.

This forum’s aim was to discuss the possibilities and path of reconstruction from the devastation caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, utilizing the wisdom of the public and private sectors at home and abroad, and to convey the results to the international community, together with the government’s basic policy.

Total Audience was over 400 people and the scale was largest of the similar events at that time. The speakers and panelists made useful and helpful suggestions and comments

The program included the keynote speech by Mr. Tsuyoshi Saito, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary and ‘Director for reconstruction’, presentations by Mr. Goshi Hosono, Minister of Environment, in charge of nuclear plant accident control and recurrence prevention　and Mr. Jin Mayama, writer, and 2 panel discussions moderated by Mr. Shinsuke Sugiyama , Foreign Ministry’s Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs and Mr. Norihiko Dan, architect. Three foreign diplomats took part in one of the panel discussion.
