FEC hosted a welcoming breakfast meeting for Mr. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, Minister of Planning Strategic Investment of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, at Hotel New Otani Tokyo on October 7. From Timor-Leste side Minister Gusmão and Ambassador Aleixo da Cruz attended. From Japan sideFEC President Ken Matsuzawa,Mr. Iwao Kitahara, Secretary-General, Japan Timor-Leste Association and Mr. Yoshihiko Nakagaki, Vice Chairman of FEC Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Honorary Counselor and Former President of Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. and others attended.

Minister Gusmão appreciated the invitation to the breakfast meeting and said, ”I visited Japan as an individual this time, and I am very happy that I can meet again with various friends and acquaintances.As President Matsuzawa says, The Timor-Leste’s relationship with Japan and its private organizations is very important and we are respectful to Japan. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
