FEC invited H. E. Ms. Ruth Kahanoff, Ambassador of Israel, to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at Imperial Hotel Tokyo on July 26. The meeting was held on the theme of“Current status of Israel and the situation in the Middle East”.Mr.Hiroshi Saito, Chairman of FEC Japan-Middle East Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Honorary Advisor,　Mizuho Financial Group, Inc.made a welcome remark and said, “In the Middle East, Syrian civil war and the rise of extremist group IS is a big issue.Palestinian issue is also important.When US President Obama retires next year, US policy towards Israel and the peace issue in the Middle East may change.” Ambassador Kahanoff made a speech focusing on the Middle East situation, Israel’s current situation and relationship with Japan.
