FEC hosted a welcoming luncheon meeting for Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Islamic Republic of Iran, at Hotel New Otani Tokyo on May 19. Deputy Foreign Minister Araguchi was former Iranian Ambassador to Japan, and is familiar with Japan and Iranian relations.After taking office as Deputy Foreign Minister, he had negotiated as a key person on the Iranian side of the nuclear talks, and reached a historical agreement.

From Iran side 5 people attended including Ambassador Nazar Ahari, and Mr. Morteza Mortazavi, Asistant to Deputy Foreign Minister. From Japan side 9 people attended, including FEC President Matsuzawa, Mr. Takaya Suto, Advisor of FEC Japan-Middle East Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Former Ambassador to Iran.
