FEC Welcome Dinner for H.E. Mr. Vu Van Ninh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam

On May 20, FEC hosted a welcome dinner for H.E. Mr. Vu Van Ninh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and his party at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo. Deputy Prime Minister Ninh visited Japan to make a speech at the 21st International Conference on The Future of Asia.
From Vietnam side, 15 people joined the dinner including H.E. Mr. Doan Xuan Hung, Ambassador of Vietnam to Japan, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Vice Minister, Government Office, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa, Vice Minister, Ministry of Industry and Trade, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Minister, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and H.E. Mr. Le Quoc Doanh, Vice Minister, Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development. From FEC side, 15 people attended including FEC President Matsuzawa, Mr.Yoshihiko Nakagaki, Chairman of FEC Japan-Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Honorary Counselor and Former President of Electric Power Development Co., Ltd, Mr. Hiroshi Saito, Vice Chairman of FEC, Honorary Advisor, Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. and FEC Senior Managing Director Yushita, Former Ambassador to Viet Nam.
At the beginning of the dinner, FEC President Matsuzawa welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Ninh and said, ” The year 2015 becomes a milestone for all the Asian countries, since ASEAN Economic Community(AEC)will be launched by the end of the year, and a regional integrationfinally takes a big step. The importance of regional cooperation seems to increase and Vietnam’s strategic importance is expected to grow further. As an Asian country together with Vietnam, I would say that Japan will continue to play a more proactive role to promote development, peace and prosperity of the region. FEC also will work actively in line with Japan’s foreign policy.
Deputy Prime Minister Ninh expressed the appreciation for the dinner and said, “ I am very pleased to see the development of Vietnam-Japan relations in many areas. On behalf of the Vietnam government, I would like to express many thanks to the Japanese companies’ investment and contribution to Vietnam’s development. We expect continuous investment cooperation and support from Japan.” A toast was proposed by Mr. Nakagaki. Various views were exchanged over the dinner on a variety of topics such as the modernization of agriculture, development of supporting industries and medium and small companies in Vietnam.
