FEC invited H.E. Mr. Manuel M. Lopez, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo on February 26. The meeting was held on the theme of “Current situation of the Philippines and future prospects of Japan – Philippines relations”. Mr. Norio Yamaguchi, Vice Chairman of FEC, Chairman of FEC Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Chairman of the Board of AJINOMOTO Co., Inc. made a welcome speech,” The FEC Delegation headed by me will visit Indonesia and the Philippines from March 15. Previous FEC Delegation visited the Philippines in February 2011 and they got useful views from the leaders of the Aquino III administration including Finance Secretary Purisima. Since then, we get valuable advice regularly from Ambassador Lopez in Japan and I appreciate your effort to arrange the meetings for our forthcoming delegation. Philippines seems to keep higher growth rate among the ASEAN countries and you have ASEAN integration this year. Therefore, it will be extremely meaningful to visit your country for development of our economic relations and the participating companies’ business planning. I am very glad to be able to hear from Ambassador Lopez today.”  Ambassador Lopez thanked the invitation to the meeting and talked about Philippines’ current economic conditions, Japan – Philippines relations and prospects of the Philippines, using a PowerPoint presentation.
