FEC invited H. E. Dr. Hans Carl Freiherr Von Werthern, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Japan to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Okura Tokyo on July 29. The meeting was held on the theme of “Current status and future prospects of Germany-Japan relationship.” Japan and Germany, economic reconstruction of both countries started from nil after the World War Ⅱ, developed into the world leading economic big power, and have many common features such as diligent, orderly and serious nationality.

Mr. Hiromichi Fujita, Chairman of FEC Japan-Europe Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Executive Advisor and Former Chairman of Toppan Printing Co., Ltd made a welcome speech, “Germany and Japan, as a political partner, continue to collaborate with Global agendas, have developed a very good relationship. We face new developments of international issues both in Europe and Asia. Today, we would like to hear Ambassador’s frank remarks on various topics including the current situation of Germany and future prospects of Germany-Japan relationship.” After the speech, there were active Q&As in a cozy environment such as relations of Germany- U.S. and Germany-Russia, youth exchange and energy issues.
